About

reFresh it, formed by Barbara Siudy, has been providing successful residential and commercial design solutions since 1996.   The fundamental goal of Barbara’s work is to provide her clients with thoughtful designs by renewing; repurposing and restyling indoor and outdoor spaces.

This is accomplished through the amalgamation of her business experience first in the world of finance; real estate investing; and real estate development project management combined with her depth of experience in substantial design projects.  Her unique ability to combine great design with a disciplined business approach results in projects that not only meet the clients’ aesthetic and space function goals but also are sensitive to budget and timeline conformance.

Projects range from space "tune-ups" to major remodeling.  Her services are utilized in both residential and commercial projects in Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii.

Barbara shares her thoughts about design and the design process:

The unifying goal for all my design projects is to ensure the client feels:

I belong here. I feel comfortable here.

Timeless and sophisticated designs blended with my extensive business background, create gorgeous results which also make economic sense.

This speaks not only to the results of the project but also the design process itself.   I believe that the design process should be fun, engaging, and as hassle free as possible for the client. I respect the clients’ budget. I create

a beautiful and highly functioning environment. I get done as planned both from a budgetary and timeline standpoint. Give me a goal and I’ll get it done!

Barbara has been featured in Oregon Home magazine, completed an advanced design program through Heritage School of Interior Design in Oregon, mentored under some incredible designers, completed numerous large-scale projects, completed courses through the University of Oregon Architecture School, traveled extensively and observed great design around the world.

Outside In

Each project begins with the relationship of the space to its surroundings including the unique light of the space, the colors of the surrounding natural environment, the style of the specific and surrounding architecture, the sounds and textures of the area, the climate and the cultural influences.

Inside Out

As the project unfolds, each design decision influences the next. All decisions are driven by the client's core needs from each space both practical and heartfelt. Great design springs from the rich benefits of collaboration between the designer, the client, the artisans, and other key players on the project.

Harmony

The result of a cohesive design process is one that creates a seamless flow as people move from outside the project to within the project. The acknowledgment of this flow within the design creates a subtle sense of harmony. It is as important to ensure a desian solution that not only looks great but also feels great.

Confusion to Calm

I'd call Barb anyway, but ....... it's usually when I'm at my wits end!  After I meet with Barb, I usually just sit down with my jaw dropped. Barb answers so many of my questions so easily with workable solutions. And when I walk around my home after its put together, I am pure calm just admiring the placement of furniture/items, the groupings, the pathways, the upholstery, the treatments and the colors...it all just works! And I feel deeply comfortable living in my home

Ideas and Vision

I've worked with Barbara for two Sunriver projects, a bathroom update and a whole house remodel.  She is a great listener and will incorporate what she thinks looks good but will also incorporate what the customer wants.  Barbara has a great eye for materials that not only go together in the same room but also works with other materials in other parts of the house.  Her ideas and vision will visually enhance the house and work with the customers vision and lifestyle.

Magical Skills

We built a house in 2018 as a rental property and then decided to move into it in 2020. There wasn't a design aesthetic; we simply moved in with the furniture and other items we owned which had fit our previous space.  What we desired was a comfortable, modern, Japanese and Scandinavian feel, and a way to showcase our beautiful water view.

We have worked with other designers over the course of 30 years and the best before Barbara gave us at best around 50% of what we were hoping for.

One of her magical skills is immediately seeing how to make design improvements both large and small, along with a flow of the design and rooms. She noticed a beautiful stained glass table lamp that was too bulky for the living room but had sentimental family value. We wanted to replace the stairway chandelier; she zeroed in and said let's rewire the stained glass table lamp, turn it upside down, and now we own a beautiful unique chandelier.

True Pro

Working with Barbara on my kitchen/family room remodel was a real pleasure. She was open to my opinions and we worked together to fit my thoughts into her vision and create a unified outcome.

She not only provided a highly functional solution but one that was aesthetically exactly what I needed for increasing the openness of the room and adding light.'

The project was completed in record speed and within budget once we got started.

She is a true pro to work with and I highly recommend her for any remodel or refresh project.
